Volkswagen today surprised Bologna show goers with another hint at what the forthcoming hot Scirocco coupe will look like. The Scirocco Studie R is a more roadgoing version of the Scirocco GT24 race car – and is a thinly veiled guide to the R20T that’s in development. CAR Online revealed VW’s plans for a hot Scirocco earlier this month, and this white concept car further fleshes out Wolfsburg’s thinking.
THREE QUARTERS of drivers in the UK say there should be no more additional costs for those driving a diesel car. Under proposals for Ultra Low Emissions Zones (ULEZ), diesel car drivers would be charged more to drive in towns and cities across the UK. With the possibility of ULEZs becoming widespread by 2020, 75.4% of drivers in the UK say they object to this plan and are not prepared to pay more to use their car.
Price and specification details for the 2013 VW Golf MK 7 have been revealed for the UK. Starts at £16,300. Starting point is the Golf S 3-door with the 1.2 litre TSI engine the 84bhp at just £16,330 (less than the same MK 6 model), with a choice of both 3 and five door models across the range and three trim levels – S, SE and GT (the MK 7 Golf GTI won’t arrive until next year).
